Elevating Studio, a leading global vertical transportation consultancy headquartered in Singapore with regional offices in Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, and Finland, is proud to announce a strategic collaboration with The Vertical Transportation Studio Limited (The VT Studio), an established specialist consultancy based in London, UK. This partnership marks a major step forward in aligning expertise and resources to serve a growing international client base across Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East.
Under the new collaboration, The VT Studio will continue operating under its current brand and maintain its UK base. The company will be led by John Stopes as Managing Director, and joined by Adam Scott as Executive Director effective 1 July 2025. Adam brings decades of experience in vertical transportation engineering and design, including senior leadership roles at Sweco UK, a key role in the development of CIBSE Guide D, and active involvement in several European standards committees (CEN/TC10).
Both firms share a deep commitment to excellence in vertical transportation consultancy and bring a strong portfolio of iconic reference projects to the partnership. Elevating Studio has been involved in many of Asia Pacific’s most high-profile developments, including 8 Shenton Way, One Bangkok, Chifley South Tower, Marina Bay Sands IR2, and major modernization projects like Republic Plaza, One Raffles Place, Millenia Tower, UOB Plaza 1 and 2, Chifley North Tower, and Empire Towers.
The VT Studio contributes equally strong credentials, with extensive experience across the UK and Middle East, having delivered vertical transportation consultancy services on renowned projects such as 22 Bishopsgate, Citi Bank Tower, The Shard, Schiphol Pier A, and key developments within NEOM—including The Line and Oxagon.

The leadership and technical direction of the expanded team will remain strong and focused. John Stopes will report to Michiel de Moel and work closely with Johannes de Jong, Executive Vice President and Co-Founder of Elevating Studio. Johannes is widely recognized for his global contributions to VT innovation, including advisory roles with the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), leadership within EN81 committees, and over 700 patents in his name.
The VT Studio Team will also collaborate closely with Elevating Studio’s Global Leadership team, including Janne Sorsa, Global Vertical Transportation Traffic Expert who is a renowned expert in traffic analysis and simulation; Paul van Santen, recently appointed as Group Director – Business Process and Technical Delivery; Geoff Gatehouse, recently appointed as Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand; Supapradit Marsong, Managing Director Thailand; and Nai Meng Wah, Managing Director Malaysia.
